Born in 1980, he is a Chemist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) indorsed by the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto. During the Chemistry course he was distinguished with the Mendonça Monteiro Award and the Teresa Fonseca Award, the latter of which attributed annually to the best student of the Chemistry Course (Scientific branch).

He is the author and co-author of several papers in peer-reviewed international scientific magazines and both oral and poster presentations at numerous national and international scientific meetings. Additionally, he was the author of several encyclopaedic scientific texts for an on-line Encyclopaedia project financed by the Gulbenkian Foundation.

Since 2012, he works at Paralab SA (Portugal) and Paralab SL (Spain) as a Specialist of Instrumental Analysis Techniques, where he is the responsible for the development of analytical methods and calibrations, scientific and technical training of customers, consultancy, internal and external laboratory analysis service, training courses, sales support, on-site demos, etc. He is the Specialist of techniques as diverse as X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Particle Size by Laser Diffraction (LD), Thermal Analysis (DSC, TG, STA and DMA), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Combustion and Solution Calorimetry and many others.
